Our Story

Our philosophy is to provide families with a high standard of individualised, safe supportive care throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond

Your pregnancy journey and beyond

At Riverside Midwives, we believe women deserve to feel confident and supported throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. We know that having continuity of care from someone you trust can completely transform your experience, because we’ve seen it firsthand, and we’ve lived it too.

We're experienced independent midwives and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs). Together, we share a passion for providing personalised maternity and infant feeding support built on trust. We're based in Windsor and have the privilege of caring for families across Berkshire, Surrey, South Buckinghamshire and West London, supporting women through pregnancy, birth and the early weeks with their baby, whether they're planning a home birth or giving birth within their local NHS maternity unit.

Continuity of care is at the heart of everything we do at Riverside, and it's something that matters to me personally. Being looked after by the same midwife when I was expecting my third son is what led me into midwifery.

I worked in hospital and community settings within the NHS before co-founding Riverside Midwives with Joanna in 2018. For several years we shared antenatal and birth care, and Joanna now leads this side of the practice while we continue to work together providing postnatal care in the early weeks with a new baby.

Supporting families with feeding has become what I love most about my work. I'm an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and qualified tongue tie practitioner, and I now also practise independently as Emily Clark IBCLC offering a range of infant feeding services and tongue tie support.

Outside of work, I'm happiest outdoor swimming, walking our dog Lola, travelling with my husband, and getting the family together round a restaurant table with our three grown-up boys.

My calling to midwifery began early - at just two years old, I proudly introduced a stranger to my doll: "Look at my baby, she's just newborn." That innate connection to birth work has guided my entire life's journey.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of supporting countless families through one of life's most transformative experiences. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I also provide specialist, evidence-based infant feeding support to families during the early weeks and beyond.

After years in the NHS, I stepped away temporarily to welcome my own children, Hugo and Tara, though even then, midwifery remained central to my identity.

What drives me is witnessing the beautiful transformation as women discover their strength and families welcome new members. I cherish building relationships of trust where women feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their journey into motherhood.

Each family's story is unique, and I consider it an honour to be part of their path as they navigate pregnancy, birth and the early days of bonding, nurturing, and growing together.

Midwifery isn't just my profession, it's the core of who I am and how I serve the world.
